Show your love this Valentine’s Day with these cute crocheted hearts!
Whether used as a bowl filler or just to give to the one you love, you will love making these cute hearts!

What I love about these hearts is they are filled with stuffing making them pop! I love to embellish some of mine to add a bit more pizzazz! Whether its with beads or sequins or buttons, or left plain, the possibilities are endless.
This pattern uses single crochets & single crochet decreases. The hearts are easy to make & work up fast!

To make one of these hearts you will make 2, one for the front and one for the back, and then you will single crochet all around the edges filling them with toy stuffing or whichever stuffing material of your choice as you go. Embellishments are done before single crocheting the front and back together.
Using a worsted weight yarn (4) the heart measure before being sewn together laying flat:
Width 5 inches (12.7 cm) Height 4.5 inches (11.4 cm)

Yarn
This pattern uses a worsted weight yarn (4). I used Loops & Threads Soft Impeccable worsted yarn in the colours in Cherry, Plum & Arbor Rose. Any yarn weight 4 will do depending on how big you want your hearts to be!

Rows 15 – 19 is where you will be working the top 2 “bumps” of the heart. You will work one bump, cut yarn & tie off, then you will work the other bump.
Row 15: Work 1 sc in each of the next 9 sts. Ch 1, turn.

Row 16: Work 1 scdec over the first 2 sts. then work 1 sc in each of the next 5 sts. Work 1 sc dec over the last 2 sts. Ch 1, turn. (7 sc left)

Row 17: Work 1 scdec over the first 2 sts, work 1 sc into each of the next 3 sts. Work 1 scdec over the last 2 sts. Ch 1, turn. (5 sc left)

Row 18: Work 1 scdec over the first 2 sts, work 1 sc into the next st, work 1 scdec over the last 2 sts. Ch 1, turn. (3 sc left)

Row 19: Work 1 sc in each of the the 3 sts. Cut yarn, & tie off.

Now you will work the other “bump” by attaching your yarn with a slip stitch by skipping 1 stitch over from the bump you just made.

Now work Rows 15 – 19 as you did for the other “bump”.

Weave in all ends.
Now make a second one!
Once you have both done, embellish if you like, then place with wrong sides together (right sides facing out) and single crochet around the heart adding your toy stuffing as you go.
