I really enjoyed designing this knit pillow pattern because no matter what colour combination you make it in, you can make it to suit any time of year or decor! The geometric diamond design suits any decor style from modern to boho. The DIAMOND KNIT PILLOW pattern is fun to make if you like stranded knitting.
Using just 2 colours and a repetitive pattern, this is a great pattern for those who are relatively new to stranded knitting. I find stranded knitting fun to do because I love the end result! The key is to keep your tension loose when carrying your yarn to your next stitch when switching colours. Once you get that right tension you are off and running!
The pillow is made by creating a rectangle and then folding it in half and seaming up each side. The pillow form is then placed inside and the end is then sewn up. I used pins to pin up the sides to make sure I was matching the pattern on each side. This makes for a more professional finish.
The pillow measures 18 inches x 18 inches when complete.
New to stranded knitting….no problem!
This pattern uses single crochet, half double crochet & double crochet. All are explained in the pattern so don’t worry if you are not familiar with these stitches….I have got you covered! The pattern includes step by written instructions with detailed explanations of all stitches used and how to do them.
Yarn
This pattern uses a worsted weight yarn (4). I used Loops & Threads Soft Classic worsted yarn in the colour in Ginger, Off White. Any yarn weight 4 will do though so long as you meet the correct gauge!
You will need approximately 275 yards of the ginger yarn, and 250 yards of the off white yarn.
